Since 1990, asi has been organising annual conferences on key developments in European, media, advertising and marketing. Planned to address issues from the advertiser's point of view, over the years the conferences have gained considerable recognition, with delegates regularly attending from across Europe and around the world.

In 1992 asi launched Commercial Communications in association with the European Commission. Distributed to all members of the European Parliament and available on subscription, the publication provides a forum for discussion on the regulatory framework for all forms of commercial communication in Europe.



Diary dates for 2009


This year the Advertising and Communications Effectiveness conference will be held immediately before the Radio and TV conferences in November. The Advertising and Communications conference will be on November 2nd/3rd. The Radio conference will be on November 4th and the TV conference on November 5th/6th.

The venue will be Istanbul. Detailed planning for each of these conferences will start in June, but please advise us now of work you have in progress (or that you are aware of) if you think it could be of interest to our community of interest. The programmes to last year's Radio and TV conferences can be seen below.

Alan Wurtzel


  The winner of last year's Tony Twyman Award at the Television Symposium was Alan Wurtzel, President Research and Media Development, NBC Universal for the research conducted during the Beijing Olympics. This innovative research project provided for the first time valuable insights into how consumers are responding to the opportunity to view 'must see' video distributed on multiple platforms.
